This programme aims to develop reflective and analytical skills as well as providing practical experience in planning effective lessons and learning strategies, hands-on classroom experience, and opportunities to further deepen subject knowledge. Successful completion of the programme leads to recommendation for qualified teacher status (QTS).
A 2.2 Honours degree in a relevant area; GCSE English language and mathematics at grade C or equivalent; satisfactory levels of information and communications technology competence and an appropriate range of practical skills related to applicants� specialist subject; a demonstrable interest in teaching within the curriculum area, for example: time spent in schools, knowledge of the chosen curriculum area, relevant practical experience; candidates take professional skills tests in literacy and numeracy.
