Secondary Education (Art and Design, 14-19)
This course combines academic study, group discussion and reflection with practical and work-based learning in the classroom to give you all the knowledge and skills you will need to become a creative and innovative teacher of art and design. As you move into full-time placements you will be supported by mentors in schools and colleges who will work with you to ensure your development through a range of experiences across the 14-19 age phase. You will develop both a reflective and a critically analytical approach to education.
A 2.2, or above, Honours degree; GCSE English language and mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent qualification); applicants take the professional skills tests in literacy and numeracy; a portfolio is required; Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, previously CRB) Enhanced Disclosure.
