Advanced Fertility Practice
The normal minimum requirement is a lower 2nd Class Honours degree in a health or social care related subject. Applicants must be employed within a clinical environment that delivers reproductive medicine. Applicants should also be registered as a professional with a regulatory body based in health care, such as the Nursing and Midwifery Council. A clinical mentor must be identified within this environment to support learning. Applicants are also invited for interview to help determine their suitability for the programme. Proof of work environment and clinical mentor access need to be provided. The applicant's clinical mentor also needs to be named and contacted prior to admission to the programme to ensure the University can provide support in undertaking the role mentor and assessor.
Core modules: Clinical reproductive practice; ultrasound scanning for reproductive medicine; development of a research proposal; advanced practice project. Optional modules: embryo transfer; oocyte retrieval; clinical andrology; non-medical prescribing; negotiated learning; sexual health.
