Advanced Practice in Nursing

As a practitioner in the public domain of health and social care services, you are expected to be innovative, provide leadership and make an advanced contribution in your professional role. This course will enable you to do just that in your specialised area of practice. You will gain an in depth understanding of the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you need to practice at an advanced level, as well as the ability to critically appraise relevant health and social policy. You will also acquire the knowledge and skills you need to address ethical and professional issues.

Entry requirements

The entry requirements for this course are a qualified health or social care practitioner, who has a degree or equivalent experience. We look for candidates to have a background in health or social care in order to be eligible for the programme. We may also consider lesser qualifications if you have sufficient relevant work experience within the industry.

Course modules

Year 1: Exploring professional roles in practice; contemporary ethical and professional issues in healthcare; option module. Year 2: Research methods; 2 optional modules. Year 3: Dissertation.
