Accounting and Financial Management
The MSc Accounting and Financial Management was developed in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). It provides students with the unique opportunity to achieve a Masters Degree and to gain the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting. The MSc Accounting and Financial Management combines a critical evaluation of the latest accounting and finance theories with a practical understanding of how these are applied in real life. This combination of theory and practice and the potential to achieve two awards will ensure that you have a competitive advantage in the job market and significantly enhance your employability prospects.
Bachelor (Honours) degree at 2.2 or above. We look for applicants to have a background in in a business related subject in order to be eligible for the programme. We may also consider lesser qualifications if you have sufficient relevant work experience within the industry.
Trimester 1: accounting for performance management; financial reporting and analysis; financial management. Trimester 2: strategic performance management; contemporary issues in strategic management; research methods. Choice of 1 from 3 from list below: contemporary issues in financial reporting; strategic financial management; organisational change and management. Trimester 3: company study dissertation.
