Intercultural Business Communication with Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

English is a business language for global communication among people who do not share the same native tongue. This course understands that cultural differences can create barriers, even when English is used as a common language. It thus combines a systematic approach to teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) with a solid understanding of intercultural business communication.

Entry requirements

The entry requirement for this course is a Bachelors (Honours) degree at a 2.2 or above, or equivalent. We look for applicants to have a background in any discipline in order to be eligible for the programme. We may also consider equivalent or lesser qualifications if you have sufficient relevant work experience within the industry.

Course modules

Subjects include: Teaching English as a foreign language 1; intercultural business communication; understanding language in the global workplace; teaching English as a foreign language 2; managing cultural diversity in the workplace; research methods; dissertation. 1 option module from: Advertising as cultural discourse; tourism, society and visual culture; case studies in international tourism; European language.
