International Events Management
This course represents an educational innovation dedicated to producing skilled and knowledgeable events practitioners capable not only of delivering exceptional events experiences, but also understanding the cultural phenomenon, policy frameworks and international practices that inform and challenge today's events.
Normally a 2.2 Honours degree in a related area (e.g. business management, marketing, events, sport, tourism, hospitality). Applications from students with other backgrounds (e.g. Social Sciences) will also be considered. For applicants who do not have the necessary formal entry qualifications, the University's flexible entry policy considers credit transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), including work-based experience. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.0 (with no element of the score less than 5.5) or equivalent.
Core modules: Event experiences; events, place and society; sport event tourism; global strategy-challenges and choices; personal and professional development; contemporary issues; research methods; dissertation.
The programme is assessed via various forms of coursework including: Essays; reports; presentations; case studies.
