Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (School Nursing)

This course provides education and training in the promotion of health and well-being at individual, group and community level to meet the challenging and diverse needs of individuals, families and communities of the future.

Entry requirements

1st degree or equivalent, Nursing and Midwifery Council 1st level registered; Practice Teacher availability. Students whose 1st language is not English require an IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent). Applicants are required to apply for PVG before commencing the programme. Applicants must also provide proof of professional indemnity (e.g. RCN membership).

Course modules

Modules include: Research; public health theory to social action; health economics; principles of public health; enhanced public health nursing; SCPHN consolidation of practice.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include: Open book examination; case studies; written assessments; examination.
