Glasgow Caledonian University
Biomolecular and Biomedical Sciences
The programme provides you with the opportunity to study academically challenging and vocationally relevant subjects, while gaining important practical skills and exposure to the rigour and demands of scientific investigation. You will develop your laboratory skills as part of a highly respected department that is active in research. The programme has a wide-ranging curriculum dealing with mechanisms of disease development, including the cell and molecular biology of these processes, as well as the pathophysiology and molecular aspects of medicine. The development of laboratory skills is a key component of the course and an emphasis is placed on laboratory-based practical classes, for example, in the biomolecular studies, biomolecular microbiology and research project modules.
Some students are eligible for tuition fee support. The fees and financial support that are relevant to you depend on where you lived before coming to university. Scholarships of £1,000 are available to all international students; there are no special application forms for scholarships and decisions will be made on the basis of the information provided with the application forms.
