This programme emphasises the importance of research and development, and exposes students to the latest advances in both the theory and practice of biotechnology covering molecular and cellular biology, genetics, microbiology, statistics and bioinformatics with a particular focus on medical applications of biotechnology. A number of modules include a large degree of practical work enabling students to develop critical �bench� skills. In addition, they will have the opportunity to undertake a laboratory research project in MSc Biotechnology.
UK Honours degree 2.1 (or equivalent) in a biotechnology or bioscience subject; BTech in biotechnology; IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no element below 5.5.
Biomolecular studies; molecular aspects of medicine; microbial biotechnology; skills for professional practice for biosciences; biomolecular microbiology; molecular biotechnology; integrated cell biology.
Each module will be assessed individually by a combination of coursework and formal examination.
