The course is designed to equip students with the skills to conduct research as well as deepening their professional understanding of psychology; students complete 2 modules based on developing research skills and gaining an insight into negotiated learning, alongside a dissertation project which spans the duration of the MRes course; students have access to a wide range of facilities including a forensic science suite, psychometric lab and human performance laboratory.
An initial degree awarded by an approved degree awarding body, which shall normally be awarded with 1st or 2nd Class Honours undergraduate degree or equivalent. A non-graduate qualification and a minimum of 2 years� experience in a responsible position which is relevant to the field of study may be accepted.
Modules include: advanced research methods (semester 1); negotiated learning (semester 1); dissertation on an empirical project (semester 1 and 2).
Assessment is through a combination of portfolio review, project assessment, negotiated assessment and a viva.
