The Science of Psychology, Genetics and Education

The programme is intended for graduates in psychology or related disciplines and aims to equip them with a thorough understanding of cutting edge interdisciplinary cross-cultural research linking genetics with psychology and education; students are introduced to different methods, such as twin studies, cutting-edge molecular genetic methodologies, brain research, experimental psychology, and cognitive psychology (in their application to educationally) relevant investigations, with the ultimate goal of improving learning.

Entry requirements

A degree in psychology or a related subject (eg cognitive neuroscience, education, genetics) with a research component.

Course modules

The programme is comprised of core and optional courses: behavioural genetics (15 credits); individual differences and educationally-relevant cross-cultural interdisciplinary investigations (15 credits); statistical methods (60 credits); research project (60 credits); plus 2 optional courses from: twin and family studies; molecular genetics and genomics; genetic, psychological and educational science communication; psychology and education.
