Veterinary Nurse Practitioner
The PgC Veterinary Nurse Practitioner course looks at three interesting aspects of the veterinary nurse as a practitioner: Companion Animal Life Care - this module looks primarily at areas where the veterinary nurse can influence the health of companion animals by giving appropriate advice and guidance to owners. Companion Animal Behaviour - this module explores the behavioural states of domestic animals that commonly contribute to behavioural problems and evaluates the range of techniques that can be used to treat them; including behavioural modification, chemotherapeutic intervention, nutritional therapy and legal and professional considerations. Client Support - this module looks primarily at the areas of client support that a veterinary nurse can assist with i.e. long term illness, euthanasia, bereavement, nurse clinics etc. and effective methods of communication that will improve client compliance.
