Computer Systems Management

The programme aims to impart the skills and understanding required to manage complex computer systems as part of the support services of an organisation; this includes the selection, installation and maintenance and support of a wide range of computing technologies and an understanding of currently recommended computing technologies.

Entry requirements

Admission requires a 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree or its equivalent with a strong IT component. Candidates holding less than a good honours degree or its equivalent but with compensating qualifications or experience may be admitted to the postgraduate diploma programme. Non-native English speakers must have an English level of IELTS 6.0 or its equivalent.

Course modules

Core modules: big data management; computer network security; information systems methodologies; research methods and project planning. Optional modules: advanced software engineering; database and information systems; digital and knowledge economy; distributed and parallel technologies; industrial programming; mobile communications and programming; network applications; project management; software engineering foundations.

Research project.
