Artificial Intelligence

This course aims to impart the understanding and skills to develop intelligent software applications, such as those involving evolutionary computation and learning.

Entry requirements

1st or 2nd Class Honours degree or its equivalent in computer science or information technology. Candidates holding less than a good honours degree or its equivalent but with compensating qualifications or experience may be admitted to the Postgraduate Diploma programme. Transfer to the MSc will be possible later on if exam and course work are at MSc level. Non-native English speakers must have an English level of IELTS 6.0 or its equivalent.

Course modules

Core modules: biologically inspired computation; data mining and machine learning; research methods and project planning; computer games programming; other modules: 3 dimensional modelling and animation; artificial intelligence and intelligent agents; rigorous methods for software engineering; software engineering foundations; virtual environments; robotics and automation; advanced interaction design; software simulation and modelling.
