International Securities, Investment and Banking

This degree allows students to study a range of subjects such as financial regulation, financial econometrics, and portfolio management. The course is designed to provide skills and knowledge that enable graduates to make an early contribution through the unique combination of hands-on, practical skills valued by the financial markets and the necessary underlying finance theory.

Entry requirements

Minimum 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent from an overseas institution in any discipline; applicants must have a satisfactory existing level of numeracy; GMAT may be required; for students whose 1st language is not English an IELTS score of 7.0 with no less than 6.0 in each individual components is required.

Course modules

Modules include: quantitative methods for finance; financial markets; securities, futures and options; fixed income and equity investments. Optional modules include: Portfolio management; financial econometrics; market risk; derivatives securities: pricing, hedging and trading; foreign exchange and money markets; research projects; topics in the history of finance; bond market pricing and trading strategies; corporate finance; commodity derivatives; stock index feature.
