Economics and Strategy for Business
This programme consists of 3 distinct phases: the economics and strategy for business (ESB) core, the ESB advantage and ESB applications. Students also undertake a business simulation where they integrate and apply the knowledge they have gained to a real-life scenario, as well as a consulting project, undertaken for a client, which enables students to solve a business problem.
A 2.1 Honours degree or above (or equivalent) in business studies; management or a closely related programme; an English language qualification: GCSE, IGCSE, GCE �O� Level, or equivalent, at grade B, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) at grade B, IELTS (academic): a minimum overall score of 7.0, with a minimum score of 6.5 in writing & speaking, TOEFL (computer-based): a minimum score of 250 (TWE of 4.5+), TOEFL (internet-based): a minimum overall score of 100, with a minimum score of 24 in writing & 24 in speaking; students on this programme should typically be new or recent graduates with less than 3 years' work experience.
Modules include: Business economics; economics and strategy for innovation; the macroeconomics environment; strategic marketing; management accounting; data tools and evidence (online course); the ESB advantage: finance, risk management and regulation; corporate strategy; strategy implementation; corporate governance and corporate finance; information, incentives and contracts; ESB applications: global strategy; digital economics and digital strategy; energy economics and strategy; business simulation; consulting project; individual essay.
