Advanced Chemical Engineering with Process Systems Engineering

This course enables students to explore chemical engineering and processes in more depth.

Entry requirements

A minimum 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent in chemical engineering or a related subject; those with a lower Class degree with 3 years' relevant experience are welcome. Applicants whose 1st language is not English, with a first degree taught in English within the following countries meet the English requirement automatically: Australia, Canada, Guyana, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America, West Indies. This applies only to degrees that were awarded by a university in the relevant country. Master's Degree: Candidates whose first degree was not taught in English but who have then successfully completed a 1-year MSc (or equivalent) course at a University in one of the above countries are also exempt. GCSE, IGCSE, GCE �O� Level or equivalent: Grade B in English Language. West African Examinations Council (WAEC): Grades 1-4 in English Language. Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): Grade B. IELTS (Academic): An overall score of 6.5, with 6 in the Writing and Speaking modules. Imperial College considers IELTS scores to be valid for 2 years. Scores must be valid at the beginning of studies at Imperial College, should the application be successful. TOEFL: Internet-Based Test: A minimum overall score of 100, with 24 in writing and speaking.

Course modules

Modules include: Advanced process optimisation 1; advanced process optimisation 2; dynamic behaviour of process systems; dynamical systems in chemical engineering; entrepreneurship; finance and financial management; managing innovation; strategy management.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on dissertation.
