Circuits and Systems
Research theme within the group is in achieving higher levels of integration towards full 'systems on a chip' implementation, giving increased functionality and performance while reducing cost, power consumption and system design time; the range of problems addressed by the group includes: the implementation of robust analogue circuits within a hostile digital environment; the development of systems operating with naowatt power consumption for fully-implantable biomedical applications; the development of low-temperature thin film processes allowing active matrix displays to be implemented on plastic substrates; high level synthesis of digital systems; reconfigurable computing and FPGA.
A 2.1 Honours degree and a Master's in a relevant subject area.
