This course covers major aspects of the nuclear industry from the design and build of nuclear power stations and their operations, through to decommissioning and final disposal.
A 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent overseas qualification in an engineering or science discipline (materials; mechanical; civil, chemical engineering; or physics or chemistry); applicants with relevant industrial experience are welcome.
Modules include: Introduction to nuclear energy; nuclear chemical engineering; nuclear thermal hydraulics; reactor physics; nuclear materials for reactor systems; nuclear waste management and decommissioning; modelling for nuclear engineers; nuclear safety management.
Assessment is based on the completion of a dissertation.
