The ICR is a college of the University of London and provides postgraduate higher education of international distinction. From its foundation in 1909 as a small research department of the Royal Marsden Hospital, the ICR has grown to become one of the world's foremost independent cancer research organisations.

All our students receive advanced scientific and/or medical training at the leading edge of cancer research, care and treatment, guided by a faculty of world-class academic scientists and researchers. The ICR has a modern estate on two sites, state-of-the-art scientific and educational facilities, and a lively and diverse student community. The ICR is at the forefront of international cancer research and our reputation for high standards in all that we do is crucial to our success.

As a charity we exist for the benefit of the public and there is a consequent public expectation of the highest ethical standards. The ICR's record of achievement in understanding the genetic basis of cancer is second to none, and our scientists continue to make significant progress.
