This course is for dentists who have an established dental practice and are seeking to gain knowledge of an evidence-based approach to aesthetic treatment; the mode of delivery of distance learning, which combines online and face-to-face components, enables dentists to remain in dental practice while training, ensuring no loss of income or work experience and establishes a dental practice using skills learnt on the programme; the course has been designed to provide theory, support and discussion groups by online training using a dedicated virtual learning environment, to provide access to content wherever students are in the world.
A dental qualification; employed as a dentist in a dental practice, dental school, hospital, or community dental services environment.
Modules include: Introduction to aesthetic restorative practice; pre-treatment considerations for aesthetic dentistry; aesthetic techniques 1; intensive face-to-face course; aesthetic techniques 2; soft and hard tissue considerations; intensive face-to-face course; completion of clinical practice module.
Assessment is through a combination of assignments, written examinations, clinical case presentations and a dissertation.
