Clinical Education

This course provides a flexible framework in which to pursue and gain recognition for continuing professional development in aspects of learning and teaching. Provision is carefully tailored to the needs of health professionals, taking account of areas of health expertise, and is delivered in association with colleagues in health schools across King's College London.

Entry requirements

An Honours degree in clinical education or related fields and a minimum of 3 years' professional experience in a clinical environment.

Course modules

Modules include: Fundamentals of pedagogy; effective teaching and learning - further clinical applications; observing teaching; using research in higher education; researching higher education; dissertation; interprofessional leadership and learning; models of expertise; personal development and continuing professional development; dentistry in an educational context; pharmacy in an educational context; nutrition and dietetics in educational context; e-pedagogies: technology as a tool for teaching and learning in clinical settings; intercultural education.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by a written assignment or dissertation.
