Women's Health

Research encompasses a wide range of themes spanning conception to the female menopause. Research areas include fertilisation; reproduction; pre-eclampsia and pre-term labour. The Division offers a unique research environment, using a wide range of experimental approaches in molecular; cellular; physiological; biochemical; clinical and translational themes combining science with clinical application.

Entry requirements

2.1 Honours degree (or above) in an appropriate subject, or the overseas equivalent is normally required, although an exception may be made if the applicant has a good Master's with a merit or above.

Course modules

Research areas include: reproduction neurobiology and early life origins of disease; reproductive medicine; pregnancy, fetal wellbeing and childbirth; women's mental health; urogynaecology and menopause; maternal health services and policy research; global health.

Sponsorship information

Grant-awarded funds are obtained following application by the research supervisor and sources include the MRC, Wellcome Trust, Biomedical Research Centre, and many charities.
