This course explores a range of topics and texts from the mid-19th century to the present; students receive training in research and writing skills in preparation for the completion of a large-scale research project within a research environment which values scholarly inquiry and independence of thought.
Minimum 2.1 1st degree in English, or a subject in which English plays a significant part; other disciplines may be considered.
Assessment is by coursework and compulsory dissertation.
