Film Studies

This programme is a diverse, interdisciplinary field, incorporating a variety of approaches to the analysis of film and film culture. The course builds on the research strengths of its distinguished faculty to offer modules that examine a wide range of cinemas and approaches to studying film.

Entry requirements

A minimum 2.1 Honours degree or overseas equivalent; a degree in film studies, or a subject in which film/media plays a significant part, is an advantage, although candidates from other disciplines are considered; for those returning to study, evidence of appropriate experience are required.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by coursework and a compulsory dissertation.
