Analytical and Environmental Sciences Division
This programme covers toxicology, therapeutic drug monitoring and forensic science; chemistry is fundamental to all 3 activities and particular strengths exist in the separation sciences and mass spectrometry and the development of novel analyticalmethods; examples include improvements to aid detection of drug-facilitated sexual assaults and use of nanoparticles for forensic purposes; environmental science activity focuses on air quality and includes monitoring, modelling and toxicology research.
Good Honours degree (2.1 or above) in environmental science, chemistry, molecular life science or biomedical science, although candidates with postgraduate study or appropriate work experience are welcomed; equivalent qualifications from overseas candidates are encouraged.
Studentships, bursaries and scholarships funded by King�s Graduate School and many prestigious external sources including the UK Research Councils (MRC, BBSRC and EPSRC), charities such as the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK and the Wellcome Trust, and our industrial collaborators.
