Intelligent Systems

This course will allow students to gain a broad understanding, practical knowledge and expertise to evaluate, design and build intelligent systems using a large range of tools and techniques. Delivered by the Department of Informatics, which has an enviable reputation for research-led teaching and project supervision from leading experts in their field.

Entry requirements

An Honours degree (2.1 or above) in a scientific or engineering discipline which provides extensive computer programming experience and a sound background in basic mathematics, in particular familiarity with standard concepts of calculus, linear algebra, differential equations and elementary probability theory; overseas professional or occupational qualifications are assessed on an individual basis.

Course modules

Modules include: Agents and multi-agent systems; artificial intelligence; biologically inspired methods; computer vision; pattern recognition; plus optional modules.

Assessment methods

Assessed is through coursework, written examinations, final project report.
