This course will introduce students to live projects to develop your skills through hands-on experience including producing the award-winning course magazine; first-rate industry contacts through projects with magazine publishers, high-profile guest speakers and professional support to hone your CV and gain valuable work experience; excellent employment prospects with more than 95% of graduates from the course gaining jobs in magazines or related areas within six month of graduation;industry standard facilities including exclusive use of a fully-equipped magazine production office and dedicated technician; and a lively location on the doorstep of London and the world's major news and media organisations.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent in an essay-writing subject; evidence of professional commitment to journalism; interview; applicants whose 1st language is not English must have an IELTS score of 6.5 (with a minimum score of 7.5 in writing and 5.5 in all other elements).

Course modules

Modules include: Feature writing; hands-on journalism; journalism in context: law, ethics and the industry; magazine publishing; journalism dissertation; practical journalism project; shorthand.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by articles, features, news, portfolios, case studies, presentations, essays, dissertation, work-based learning.
