Creative Writing Low Residency
The course provides the opportunity to work with a range of well-established writers in a dynamic writing environment in the UK without students having to relocate or give up their current job; there are 2 periods of residency where students study together at Kingston, the rest of study is via distance learning. A variety of activities and tuition during residency periods, including writing workshops, critical reading seminars, masterclasses, guest readings, and visits to cultural events.
A 2nd Class degree or above, or equivalent, in creative writing, English literature, literature and language, drama or theatre studies or a similar subject; a 2,000-word sample of creative writing; interview; applicants whose 1st language is not English require academic IELTS of 6.5 overall with 7.0 in writing.
Modules include: Dissertation; critical challenges for creative writers; special study: workshops in popular genre writing; structure and style; writers' workshop.
Assessments include a final dissertation.
