Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching
This course explores the practical applications of applied linguistics and is aimed at postgraduate students with or without language teaching experience. It is suitable for both native speakers and non-native speakers of english who want to develop their careers in language teaching, consultancy or research.
A 2nd Class degree or above, or equivalent relevant experience. All non-UK applicants must meet the English language requirements: For this course it is academic IELTS of 6.5 overall, with special conditions in all elements.
Modules include: Language description, materials and methods; principles of language learning for language teaching; dissertation pathway 1 plus research skills; dissertation pathway 2: celta plus critical reflection skills; autonomy in language learning; educational technologies for english language teaching ; language and society: principles and theory; principles of intercultural communication; teaching language for specific purposes.
Assessment is based on coursework and dissertation.
