This course will study Shakespearean performance in both the past and the present; following Shakespeare's professional career and uncovering the dramatist's London playing spaces, which will include the original Rose playhouse on London's Bankside, as well as the Great Hall at Hampton Court. Students have the opportunity to study with the resident teaching team at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, where they are introduced to the Elizabethan arena as a performance space and study the way actors interact with the space.
Applicants require a BA or equivalent. Applicants whose 1st language is not English should have an IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with special conditions in all elements.
Assessment is based on dissertation.
