Film Making and the Creative Economy
This course develops creative skills while also giving students an overview of how to manage the industry effectively within the creative economy.
A 2nd Class degree or above in a relevant area; 2 years' work experience in the creative industries; interview; applicants whose 1st language is not English require an IELTS of 6.5 with a minimum score of 5.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing.
Modules include: Design thinking and entrepreneurship in practice; managing creativity and innovation; leadership in the creative economy; contemporary issues in the creative economy; making films; the film script; the sound system; visions of light; personal research project.
Assessment is through a mix of project work and formal assessments, including essays, case studies, reports and presentations, plus the final personal research project (approximately 15,000 words).
