Accounting and Finance

This course offers a rigorous and challenging programme of study that provide students with a well-integrated knowledge of financial accounting, finance and investment, and management accounting, together with the ability to relate this to the wider issues of management and corporate strategy. Students look at the integration of theoretical and conceptual issues within the operational and practical activities of management accounting. They also explore the political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental factors that influence an organisation's social responsibilities and how they integrate with a company's strategic decision-making processes.

Entry requirements

An Honours degree (or equivalent) in any discipline; or appropriate qualification, training, or work experience; applicants whose 1st language is not English are expected to meet requirements for English language proficiency, which are: IELTS of 6.5 overall with no element below 6.0; iBT TOEFL of 90 overall with no element below 20/30; or Pearson Academic Test of English at 59 with no element below 51; those with lower scores may be required to complete a pre-sessional English language course.

Modules include: Quantitative methods in accounting and finance; financial accounting; management accounting; corporate finance; financial statement analysis; financial management; audit and control; research methods and dissertation; market-based accounting; international money and finance.
