Human Resource Management
Students gain an understanding of human behaviour in organisations and how organisational and management performance can be enhanced through effective human resource management (HRM). Students look at strategic HRM and the national differences and varying approaches adopted by multinational companies. Learners study learning and development processes and the major types of employee relations management; students also develop a knowledge of resourcing issues and techniques.
An Honours degree from a UK university or an equivalent qualification from a recognised international higher education provider; or some relevant professional experience and professional qualifications to intermediate level; or 2 years' relevant experience; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Modules include: Human resources management in context; leading, managing and developing people; investigating a business issue from a human resource perspective; developing skills for business leadership; employment law; resourcing and talent management; managing employment relations; reward management.
Assessment is through coursework, unseen examinations and management report.
