Advertising and the Creative Economy

This course helps students develop creative skills while also gaining an overview of how to manage the industry effectively within the creative economy.

Entry requirements

A 2nd Class degree or above in a relevant area; and/or 2 years' work experience in the creative industries; interview; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS of 6.5.

Course modules

Modules include: Design thinking and entrepreneurship in practice; managing creativity and innovation; leadership in the creative economy; contemporary issues in the creative economy; integrated marketing communications or marketing communications; global marketing management; strategic brand management; advertising strategy and planning.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on essays, case studies, reports and presentations, plus the final personal research project (approximately 15,000 words).
