Managing in the Creative Economy
This course focuses on management issues and challenges in the creative economy. This creative economy encompass designers, authors, film makers, musicians, architects and other 'content' creators. By the end of the course, students are equipped with the leading-edge knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in this area.
A 2nd Class degree in a relevant area; 2 years' work experience in the creative industries; relevant work experience taken in lieu of qualifications; interview; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS of 6.5 overall.
Modules include: Design thinking and entrepreneurship in practice; managing creativity and innovation; leadership in the creative economy; contemporary issues in the creative economy; financial resource management; managing operations; managing people and organisations; marketing; personal research project.
Assessment includes essays; case studies; reports and presentations; plus the final dissertation or business report (approximately 15,000 words).
