The provides students with the skills and qualities that are essential to become an effective manager. A strategic and holistic perspective is gained of their organisation. Students also have the opportunity to specialise by choosing certain option modules. Once students have successfully completed the diploma there is an opportunity to undertake a further year's study to top up qualification to Master's level.

Entry requirements

Degree plus 2 years' business-related work experience or currently engaged on a fast-track management programe; or substantial business-related work experience at a supervisory/management level in lieu of a degree; interview; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS of 6.5 overall with no element below 6.0; progress on to the Master's requires a successfully completed PgDip.

Course modules

Modules may include include: financial resource management; managing information; managing operations; managing people and organisations; marketing; strategic management; leadership in the creative economy; entrepreneurial management; financial management; human resource management; international management; issues in charity accounting and governance; managing in the public and not-for-profit sector; research methods and dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment is through: tests; case-study analysis; individual and group assignments (mainly work-based).
