Design (Product and Space and the Creative Economy)
This course develops creative skills while also giving an overview of how to manage the industry effectively within the creative economy. By the end of the course students are equipped with the leading-edge knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in this area of the creative economy.
A 2nd Class degree or above in a relevant area; 2 years' work experience in the creative industries; portfolio; interview; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS of 6.5 overall with no element below 5.5.
Modules include: Design thinking and entrepreneurship in practice; managing creativity and innovation; leadership in the creative economy; contemporary issues in the creative economy; process; focus; personal research project.
Assessment is through a mixture of project work and formal assessments, including essays, case studies, reports and presentations, plus the final dissertation or business report (approximately 15,000 words).
