Child Centred Interprofessional Practice

The course will critically analyse, question, interpret and evaluate the effectiveness of interprofessional practice when working with children and young people (0-19 years). Research, theory and practice, together with case studies (local, national and international), provide a basis for analysis and discussion. It aims to meet the needs of practitioners working with children, families and young people in any profession and is designed to facilitate an integrated workforce that can communicate and work effectively across boundaries of health, education, business, family law, the youth justice system and health social care.

Entry requirements

A 1st degree in a relevant area; and practitioner experience at an appropriate level in a relevant field; applicants whose 1st degree is not English require Academic IELTS of 6.5 overall.

Course modules

Modules include: Different professions and their practice; child development (0-19 years); safeguarding children; working together; research methodology; leading and managing in different multi-professional environments; law and ethics; inclusive practice; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment is through coursework and dissertation.
