The course enables students to: introduce teaching and learning strategies within clinical settings; competently research healthcare issues within their local environment; lead and manage healthcare practice; implement workplace learning; prepare for management of change; implement research advances to enrich evidence-based practice; and apply own learning to projects within the workplace.
An Honours degree; work experience in a healthcare setting; interview; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS of 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing.
Modules include: Evaluating health and social care outcomes; health and social care in context; managing change in practice; leadership in practice; teaching and learning; research methods in healthcare practice.
Assessment is based on 5 module-related assignments; work-based learning contract; dissertation/research project or 10,000-word reflective summary; viva exam.
