Management in Construction

This course is suitable for anyone with a background in the built environment who wants to progress into the management of projects, whether with a contractor, client or a consultancy. It combines the study of industry techniques with advanced construction management of projects. The course will develop and enhance your professional, analytical and managerial skills as well as improving your technical and transferable skills, and enable you to successfully advance your career. This course is ideal for graduate construction managers, civil/structural engineers and surveyors starting their career in the construction industry.

Entry requirements

An Honours degree or equivalent in related discipline; suitable industrial experience; international students must have an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in reading, listening and speaking.

Course modules

Modules include: Accounting systems; conditions of contract; construction organisation; estimating, purchasing and cost control; information systems; legal obligations; project and risk management; quality and safety management; research thesis.

Assessment methods

Assessment is through coursework and/or exams as well as through a research thesis.
