The course provides an opportunity to graduates from disciplines other than surveying to convert their transferable skills and extend their abilities in a critical way to the quantity surveying profession. You will develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of procurement, construction contracts and their administration. You will acquire sound knowledge of construction economics and cost planning.
A 2.1 or 1st Class degree; this can be in any discipline, although a related subject is an advantage; some experience of working in the industry would also be useful; interviews; applicants whose 1st language is not English must have an IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent.
Modules include: Business consultancy; construction law; economics of construction; european law; european project; procurement and financial management; project management; sustainable construction technology; research modules; conference paper; dissertation or project.
Assessment includes essays; seminar papers and presentations; case studies; the major research-based project or dissertation; and a conference paper that students present at the Annual Master's Conference.
