This course and other digital media ones are twinned across the arts and sciences to prepare students for employment in the digital media industry where teams of specialists work together to develop and author innovative digital media projects. In the introductory part of the course, common across the range of digital media courses, students develop a specialised practice of their own whilst participating in digital media team production processes such as iterative design and agile development, along with project management skills.
A BA (Hons) degree or equivalent qualification in a related subject such as moving image, graphic communication or computer-related design; 5 years' relevant work experience taken in lieu of a degree; portfolio; international students must have an IELTS score of 6.5 (with 6.5 in reading/writing elements) or equivalent.
Modules: Digital interdisciplinary practice; digital content production processes; fundamentals of computer-generated imagery (CGI); applications of CGI; digital modelling and texturing; character rigging. Option modules: craft project; live project; research methods; high-level games programming; programming low-level architecture.
Assessment is based essays, presentations, research projects, dissertation, software implementation are all methods of assessment.
