Sustainability and Environmental Change

This course explores the roles of regulatory practice and governance, and technological and behavioural change in moving us towards a low carbon, less resource-profligate society. Understanding the climate change agenda and how to respond is a central theme.

Entry requirements

An Honours degree or equivalent in geographical, environmental or related subjects; or appropriate professional experience; applicants whose 1st language is not English must have an IELTS score of 6.5 with 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in reading, listening and speaking.

Course modules

Modules include: The challenge of climate change; environmental law and regulation; economic sustainability; sustainable environmental management; water resources management; research methods and data analysis; research project. Optional modules: biodiversity and conservation; minerals and energy resources; sustainable cities; regeneration; waste management and contaminated land remediation; contemporary issues in environmental and earth resources management.
