Biomedical Science with Management Studies

The course is to acquire an in-depth understanding of disease processes which is complemented with a knowledge of management studies students study selected topics in biomedical science combined with the fundamentals of management theory setting scientific knowledge in a vocational context; this combination is particularly useful if students are seeking to gain a management position within the biomedical sciences industries

Entry requirements

An Honours degree or equivalent in a biologically-related discipline or professional qualification; applicants with professional experience may be eligible; applicants whose 1st language is not English require Academic IELTS of 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in reading, listening and speaking.

Course modules

Modules include: Molecular medicine; research and organisation in biomedical science; biology of disease; research project; haemostatis and thrombosis; blood transfusion; haemopoiesis and anaemia; control of infectious diseases; microbiology in clinical practice; structure, taxonomy and characteristics of micro-organisms of medical importance; business and financial environment; financial resource management; marketing; personal professional development; operations management; managing people and organisations.

Assessment methods

Assessment is through coursework, written exam and a research project.
