We host an international and transcultural constituency of PhD students working across a range of literary genres and research projects. Our virtual learning and research facilities have enabled the PhD to be studied by distance learning from overseas and facilitated with blended learning on campus bringing together students working in English from all over the world to share creative work and critical readings. We have particular supervisory strengths in contemporary poetry, long fiction, short fiction, narrative and new media and research that explores a sense of place, conflict, cultural tensions and synergies.
An MA in Creative Writing or a closely related discipline; previous publications of high quality; and a viable research proposal.
Assessment is by thesis which should be a sustained piece of creative writing of publishable standard and a substantial piece of reflective or critical writing.
