European Languages and Cultures
We warmly welcome enquiries from appropriately qualified applicants who are keen to register for doctoral research in any of the areas covered by our staff expertise. You may pursue a topic based entirely within one or several of the 5 languages: French, German, Italian, Spanish, Catalan - but we are also interested in projects which are comparative or transcultural in the scope of European and global studies. It is also possible to receive joint supervision by European Languages and Cultures and another department in the university such as History, Linguistics, Politics, Philosophy and Religion, or Sociology.
Usually an MA degree and a viable research proposal. IELTS: 6.5 or equivalent.
Assessment methods include: Original research and thesis.
