Environment and Law
This joint programme with the Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC) is intended to appeal to students who wish to study the environmental aspects of law or the legal regulation of the environment at Master's level. This programme has a flexible pathway of study which will define the classification of the final award with either an LLM or MA. Students take 3 modules from Law and 3 modules from the Lancaster Environment Centre as well as a dissertation.
A good 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent. IELTS: 6.5 or equivalent.
Core modules: perspectives on environment and development; either environmental law or international environmental law; dissertation. Optional law modules: corporations in international business law; environmental law; European Union law; gender, sexualities, and human rights; international environmental law. Optional LEC modules: chemical risk assessment; climate change and society; environmental justice; food security, agriculture and climate.
Assessment is by coursework and a dissertation.
