This degree enables you to gain in-depth knowledge of a particular area of biomedical research while becoming familiar with general and specific research methods and laboratory practice. The degree format includes 9 months of full-time laboratory work as part of an established research group, direct learning of research methods through the graduate training programme, and a 3 month writing up period, in which you will produce a dissertation. Your dissertation (which is examined by a viva voce) is the means by which the degree is assessed.
